Yuvraj Singh is not just remembered for his stellar cricketing career but also for the buzz surrounding his personal life during his prime years. One of the most talked-about topics back then was his rumoured relationship with Deepika Padukone. While neither Yuvraj nor Deepika ever confirmed their relationship publicly, it was widely speculated that the two had a brief romantic connection.

Fast forward to today, Yuvraj Singh has stirred up those old memories again with a recent anecdote he shared during his appearance on the Club Prairie Fire podcast, hosted by Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan. The former Indian cricketer shared a personal story from India’s tour of Australia in 2008, and fans are buzzing with speculation that it involved none other than Deepika Padukone.
In the podcast, Yuvraj opened up about India’s tour of Australia in 2008. According to him, he was dating a leading actress at the time, who was also in Australia for a movie shoot. Without naming names, Yuvraj revealed how the actress travelled from Adelaide to Canberra to meet him despite his requests not to, as he needed to focus on his game.
Fans quickly pieced the clues together, leading many to believe that the actress in question was Deepika Padukone, who was in Australia at the time shooting Bachna Ae Haseeno with Ranbir Kapoor.

The highlight of Yuvraj’s story was a comical incident that involved him wearing the actress’ pink flip-flops. Recalling the details, Yuvraj said, “I was dating an actress, I won’t name her. (She is) very good at the moment and very experienced. She was shooting in Adelaide. I told her, ‘Listen, let’s not meet for a bit because I’m on an Australian tour, and I need to focus.’ But she followed me to Canberra on the bus.”
Despite his hesitation, Yuvraj and the actress ended up meeting, and that’s when the funny incident occurred. He recalled how she had packed his suitcase before they left for Adelaide, but somehow packed his shoes along with everything else. Left without any proper footwear, Yuvraj had no choice but to wear her undersized pink slip-ons.

“I had to wear those pink slip-ons, and I was carrying my bag in front of my shoes to hide them. The guys saw it, and they clapped for me,” Yuvraj laughingly shared, adding that he wore the pink slip-on until he could buy himself a pair of flip-flops at the airport.

While reminiscing about a time when he used to date Deepika Padukone,#YuvrajSingh said how she *followed* him to the match venue to *spend time* despite him categorically asking her *not to come* to focus on match bcz he was performing badly at Test Series pic.twitter.com/fJWheLVmSg

However, people weren’t amused by Yuvraj’s anecdote. Instead, many slammed him for blaming an ex-girlfriend for his poor performance on the field. They also called him misogynistic and a “typical man”. Have a look:
How disgusting. Typical male behaviour to trumpet his past conquests despite knowing our society will judge the woman & not him. Putting her down by insinuating she was a stalker makes it worse. An average cricketer & certainly not a gentleman.

This is absolutely uncalled for . What all he got from sharing these personal details .

If you can’t play cricket don’t play. There’s distractions for everyone and people still perform. Your incompetence is your own incompetence no one else is to blame.

Typical man. Blaming a woman for his inadequacies, that too after so many years. Yuvraj always lacked skills for a test player. And those men laughing in the podcast ?

All it needed was 1 man among the 4 here to stop him and change the subject and go ‘hey man, maybe let’s not discuss the ex here?’ I will harp on till I die that unless good men call out fellow men, misogyny will continue. But men aren’t interested in breaking locker room banter https://t.co/L0s9nUUe4i

Guys like Yuvraj Singh are the reason why girls hesitate to take the first step. When a girl is genuinely interested, guys take her for granted later making fun of her or regret it after losing her. He could hv just shared the fun part but no he’s still obsessed with her I feel. https://t.co/kk8gYy7J1E
