Women Online Reveal How Long It Took For Them To Get Pregnant, Highlighting How It’s Not Easy

Many people think that getting pregnant is a simple process — just have unprotected sex, and the next thing you know, a baby is on the way. This assumption is one of the reasons why pre-marital sex and unwanted pregnancies are such taboo topics in India. Discussions around sexual intimacy often get shut down, as if pregnancy is the inevitable and immediate result of any sexual act.

However, the reality is much more complex. Conception is not guaranteed, and while some women might get pregnant easily, others have to put in considerable effort. It’s a journey that’s filled with uncertainties.

In India, the conversation around pregnancy rarely covers the struggles many women face. According to the Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction, infertility affects about 10-15% of couples in the country, with around 27.5 million couples actively trying to conceive but struggling to do so. Additionally, a study by the World Health Organization suggests that 1 in 4 pregnancies ends in miscarriage, a reality that often goes unspoken.

Different female bodies have different experiences, and the factors influencing fertility can range from age and health conditions to stress levels and lifestyle choices.
