Woman Shares Uncomfortable, Unsafe Experience Of Attending Dua Lipa Concert In Mumbai

India is buzzing with excitement as the country hosts a string of concerts featuring global artists like Maroon 5, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, and Dua Lipa. But amidst all the hype, a Reddit post in the r/Mumbai subreddit has shed light on an unsettling reality – are concerts in India no longer safe and enjoyable, especially for women?

Dua Lipa recently performed in Mumbai on November 30. But for one concert-goer, the experience was anything but enjoyable. The woman shared her frustration on Reddit and highlighted a series of issues that left her angry, disappointed, and questioning whether concerts in India prioritize anything other than social media clout.

The woman had bought tickets for the gold section and expected a premium concert experience. Instead, she was met with chaos, inappropriate behavior, and an audience more focused on capturing Instagram stories than enjoying the music.

She wrote how men were openly recording women in the crowd and even video-calling friends to show them videos of women and background dancers.

“Creeps all over the place who were recording girls and video calling friends showing them videos of girls and even background dancer of Jonita Gandhi and Dua Lipa team.”

The woman pointed out how some attendees, particularly older individuals, seemed clueless about the artist’s music. They were apparently there just to click pictures and show off , reducing the event to a status symbol.

“Aunty and Uncles who don’t even know a single song just here to click pictures and uplift their status. Idiotic boys and girls who are literally standing 3 feet away from the ramp but still they are getting on top of their friends shoulders how the fuck are we supposed to see the show only and only to record videos.”

From being pushed around to being inappropriately touched by both men and women, the woman claimed that the crowd was inconsiderate and chaotic.

“No empathy – I and the girl who was with me was literally pushed and touched inappropriately by both girls boys and Auntys especially.”

Several people agreed to what she had to say. In fact, many people who have been to low-key concerts revealed that they were much better and enjoyable than larger-scale concerts. Have a look:
