Woman Says Thief Was More Cooperative Than Haryana Police After Phone Gets Stolen

Whenever a crime happens – a theft, a burglary, or even a stolen phone – the first instinct is to rush to the police station. After all, law enforcement is there to help, right? But little do people know that seeking justice isn’t always that simple.

A woman named Himanshi Gaba from Haryana shared a rather bizarre and hilarious experience on LinkedIn after her sister’s phone was stolen. Naturally, they did what anyone would do – they went to the nearest police station to file a complaint. But instead of jumping into action, the police had some very interesting questions for them.

The police officers started their “investigation” by asking:

  1. “How can someone lose their phone?”
  2. “You should have thought of the consequences while losing your phone, why coming to us now?”
  3. “What can we do in this? You should have been cautious.”

And when the family mentioned that they had tracked the phone’s location and knew it was nearby, the policeman had a genius suggestion – “Go and get it yourself then.”

And guess what? They actually had to do just that. In a surprising turn of events, the thief turned out to be more cooperative than the police. The thief reached out to them and offered to return the phone in exchange for some money. The thief was more cooperative than the police!

“It was very smooth coordination between the thief and us and finally we got our phone back,” Himanshi wrote.

Moral of the story? If your phone ever gets stolen, maybe don’t expect much from the cops. Try reaching out to the thief directly!
