What Bollywood Didn’t Give Him, Business Did: How Vivek Oberoi Built ₹1200 Crore Net Worth

In 2002, Vivek Oberoi entered Bollywood with a bang, thanks to his stellar performance in Company. Hits like Saathiya, Masti, and Omkara followed, making him the next big thing in the industry. But his personal life overshadowed his professional success.

Vivek’s infamous spat with Salman Khan over his then-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai reportedly cost him dearly. It is no news that he was boycotted from the industry. While he continued to work in films, including regional ones like Lucifer and web series such as Inside Edge, the Bollywood offers dwindled. But what Vivek did next is nothing short of remarkable.

Instead of solely relying on Bollywood, Vivek Oberoi diversified into business. Over the last two decades, he built an impressive empire worth Rs 1200 crore, making him one of the richest actors in India.

His ventures include a real estate company, Karma Infrastructure, and an event management firm, Mega Entertainment. He’s also the co-founder of Aqua Arc, a Rs 2,300-crore project in Ras Al Khaimah, and Svarnim University, reported Hindustan Times.

But that’s not all. Vivek is also an angel investor, backing startups and ensuring his financial independence. Recently, he made headlines for purchasing a Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge worth Rs 12.25 crore, reported GQ.

“Acting is my passion, and business is the enabler. It has got me to a point where I can pursue my passion purely. There’s no compulsion to do something that I’m not enjoying or bow to a lobby,” Vivek had said in an interview.

His story is a powerful reminder that building economic independence can give you the freedom to follow your dreams!
