They say that it takes a village to raise a child. And it’s true. Raising a child is not just the responsibility of parents; it takes a whole community to provide the love, support, and guidance a child needs to grow. A supportive community helps parents by sharing the load and stepping in during tough times. Here’s an example.
A pre-primary teacher in Malnad, Karnataka, shared how she has an LKG student who lives in a village that is 12 km away from the town. So, whoever lives close to her house and comes to town volunteers to pick her up from school and drop her home. The child’s mother calls the school and informs them about the person who will be picking the child up from school.
One of my LKG students comes from a village, 12 kms away from the town. Apparantly, anybody staying close to her house who comes to town volunteers to pick her up from school so mom calls us everyday to informs who’ll pick. It takes an entire village to raise a child and how ?

Several people highlighted that this is how our society used to look like a few decades back, where neighbours used to help young parents with raising their kids. The sense of trust and camaraderie experienced in those times remains unmatched.
Sweet, Trust and camaraderie we see in small towns and villages is non existent in cities

This is how the society was 2 decades back!! Actually we should have been in such coexistence and coliving society.. but unfortunately mobile and social media has divided us. We might be staying connected but life has disconnected!!

In small towns everyone knows everyone and people are helping in nature. Very heartwarming to know this!
