If there’s one thing Indian roads can boast about, apart from chaotic traffic and unruly honking, it’s potholes. Our roads are practically world-class when it comes to the number of craters dotting them, and if we had to hand out awards, India would win gold for sure. But when it comes to Bengaluru, potholes aren’t just common – they’re an experience.
Taking a humorous jab at this never-ending issue, Sivaramakrishnan Narayanan, co-founder and CTO at Fyle, came up with a hilarious business idea – an app where users can rate and review Bengaluru’s potholes.

“Planning to build an app where we can rate and review potholes in Bengaluru. I recently saw a 7-star pothole and felt sad that it wasn’t getting the recognition it deserved,” he posted on X.

Your 7 star pothole can’t beat the sinkhole on the ORR service road near my place. The venerated monument has been duly marked by a tree branch in typical ‘luru style. I am going to hype it so much, the Ejipura Stonehenge is going to cry for attention.

By the time you rate a porthole and submit it to the government agency, a three-star pothole would have earned a five-star rating.

The roads should be rated based on the potholes in the neighborhood and road with the most and worst potholes and positions will be ranked at the top, and the best roads will be ranked at the bottom.

Not only in Bengaluru, however we should collectively name all the potholes in the country as one. You know “unity in diversity”.?
This will help in linking all the potholes to Aadhaar Cards of the residents living in that area or we can make Aadhaar Cards for potholes too.— Punarv (@beingpunarv) October 22, 2024
