A lot of the Bollywood movies are for entertainment purposes and not to be taken seriously. However, unconsciously over the years, they have succeeded to fool our minds into believing certain stereotypes that still houses in our brains.
Like all Punjabi moms are neat freaks and loud AF, or all South Indians worship Allu Arjun or Rajnikanth and have a weird Hindi accent.

And like us, a Twitter user was also done with the stereotypical portrayal of South Indian homes that are usually made of wood, have a huge open verandah or courtyard with traditional-looking metal swings installed for Madrasis to relish on their 100th cup of Kaapi in a metal tumbler. No doubt it is beautiful, but not everyone owns it.
wait till north indians find out we don't live in houses like this pic.twitter.com/v0a0CbsUXM

And as @_subiiii bust this myth for people online, others went on the comments section and called out such stereotypical portrayal of cultures in Hindi cinema.
Basically it’s where every relative in our massive joined families comes rushing out into, when drama ensues. Or maybe to commit a minor homicide with a scythe used for slicing coconuts open. ?

We don't eat idli sambar all the time. We don't drink filter coffee all the time. We don't worship rajnikanth. We don't speak Hindi in a wierd accent. We don't always wear silk sarees. We don't always listen to carnatic music. Done with the list for now! https://t.co/KXQW89rxp5

Basically:
in an attempt to glorify a culture, they are only stereotyping the rest! https://t.co/KXQW89rxp5

I reiterate, movies aren’t supposed to be taken literally. So the next time you see a Punjabi, don’t start shouting, ‘Party shaarty kitthey?’
