The manhandling and ill treatment of kids in reality shows had been the topic of discussion among a lot of public personalities lately. Filmmaker Amole Gupte had earlier give a statement on the barbaric treatment of kids on these reality shows which is equivalent to harassment. Apart from him, a lot of other celebrities supported his argument and raised their voices against such reality shows.
One of those personalities was the renowned filmmaker, Shoojit Sircar. After watching one of these reality shows, and getting to know how the kids are treated during the shoot and rehearsals, he tweeted to condemn such shows.
Humble request to authorities to urgently ban all reality shows involving children.it’s actually destroying them emotionally & their purity.

As a response to that tweet, a popular kids reality show on Zee TV called ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs’ observed one minute of silence on-air. The host of the show, Aditya Narayan, said that “reality shows provide kids with a platform to showcase their talent instead.”

He openly condemned Shoojit Sircar’s statement.
After watching the show disrespect a filmmaker’s opinion on screen, the people didn’t respond well to it.
#AmulSaReGaMaPaLilChamps 10 secs silence? Really? If you don’t agree then atleast don’t disrespect @ZeeTV The show has lost all respect

After getting to know the show’s response to his statement, even Shoojit Sircar had something to say.

A lot of celebrities have spoken both against and in favour of the topic. Some people feel that shows like these are important in order to provide a platform for little stars to shine, whereas some people believe that kids should not be exposed to such harsh schedules and pressure at such a young age.
