In the hustle and bustle of adult life, we forget the reason behind why we are working in the first place – it’s to have the resources to live a relaxed life. As work takes the wheel and ‘araam’ takes the backseat, we rush through things that truly add to our lives, like eating our meals or drinking coconut water from a roadside seller.
A woman named Gargi took to X to share solid advice that was given to her by a coconut seller from whom she purchased a coconut. While waiting for a cab, she bought a coconut and asked the seller to cut it quickly because her cab was on the way.

The seller asked her why she was earning money in the first place – that work would go on anyway but one must take the time to eat and drink.
Have a look at her post here:
told bhaiya to cut my coconut fast because my uber was on the way & man casually said “itna paisa kyu kamate ho? kaam toh chalta rahega lekin khane peene ko time dena chahiye”

People were moved by the coconut seller’s advice. While some shared similar experiences, others lauded him for giving such a necessary reminder to our generation.
Here’s how some of them reacted:
i was eating my lunch late in an auto on the way home from work in the evening and blr auto anna told me “kaam vaam chhodo, hum rahenge toh hi kaam rahega” (translated from kannada). got me existential
