Today is a rare day. No, the newspapers are still telling us ghastly stories that otherwise may seem unreal and nightmarish. But there is a beacon shining bright in the other direction and it is imperative that we share the light. It is important we bring forth faith-reaffirming stories, especially in such times of despair.
Thanks to the Internet, we stumbled across the story of a real-life, unsung hero. One who is serving the country and nurturing its future even off-duty.
According to Twitter user Anita Chauhan, a retired army man works as a security guard, holding the fort, just like the did earlier.
Not just that…
When the sun sets, he teaches under-privileged, slum children in a bid to shape their future.
If he isn’t a living legend, who is?
This retired army man works as a security guard by day and teaches slum children by night.
Great Salute this man.#विद्या_दान ?? pic.twitter.com/Qtq5OM1Naf— Anita Chauhan (@anita_chauhan80) April 27, 2018
Needless to say, Twitterverse is hailing him high for the commendable act.

You have our respect Brijendra sir, wish we had more like you.
Having said that, nothing takes away from the fact that he, who served the country once, has to guard an ATM kiosk to make ends meet.
It also highlights the economic status of the retired army folks!

Wonder when will the callous administration wake up and see the harsh reality.
