‘I Was Shocked!’ Redditor Shares How His Cab Driver In Bengaluru Earns ₹75K A Month

About 10 years ago, the salary offered to a fresh engineering graduate entering the IT sector was roughly Rs 25,000. Cut to today, the starting salary remains quite the same. To top it all off, we are currently living in a time that’s seeing an unemployment surge and mass layoffs. So imagine how startled a person might get after they find out that a taxi driver in Bengaluru is earning Rs 75,000 a month on average!

A cab driver in Bengaluru has caught people’s attention with his impressive earnings. A Redditor, who was returning from an event, chatted with the cab driver and was surprised to learn that the driver makes around Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 each day.

“If he makes 3000 per day and works for 25 days a month, that totals to 75,000 per month. He added that even after deducting petrol costs, he still has enough money. Plus, he has another cab attached to Ola, which brings in additional income,” the user wrote on r/bengaluru_speaks.

The taxi driver took this job after having lost his previous job in 2019. He proudly claimed that his kids go to a reputed school.
