Facing back-to-back rejections can feel like a punch to the gut. Whether it’s a job application, a college admission, a manuscript, or a creative pitch, hearing “no” repeatedly can feel personal. You begin to wonder if you’re simply not good enough. And that thought? It can be crushing.
However, inspiration comes from the most unexpected places. For example, a man named Vijay Ivaturi took to X to share how his 9-year-old son got published on Tinkle. But this didn’t come easy. The boy sent Tinkle as many as 8 stories and got rejected every time. But despite the rejections, he kept going.

“For 2 years, he sent over 8 stories. None got published. But every time, Tinkle’s kind replies kept him going. After each submission, he’d eagerly check every edition — not there? He’d write again. Submit. Wait. Hope. Repeat. Until… he made it,” the proud father wrote.
Every time he submitted a story, the editorial team at Tinkle would send kind and encouraging replies. Those responses were enough to keep the little author going.

My 9-year-old’s story just got published in Tinkle! 🥳 But the real story is behind the scenes.

The story went viral for all the right reasons. Several users shared how they had been in a creative slump or felt hopeless after too many rejections. But this post reminded them that giving up is not the answer. Here’s what some of them had to say:
Congratulations to little Ivaturi!

This is a heart warming story..because I’ve been facing a lot of rejections for my work lately and was beginning to lose strength to keep going
But if a child can do it 8 times, I bloody well can do it

It’s a beautiful reminder that rejection doesn’t mean failure. It means you’re trying. And that, in itself, is a sign of courage.
