Navya Naveli Nanda, the granddaughter of Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, has been accepted into the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. She will be part of the Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) for MBA, a unique two-year course that combines online and on-campus learning, reported NDTV.

Navya shared her excitement about this achievement on Instagram, posting several photos from IIM Ahmedabad’s scenic campus. In her post, she expressed her joy saying, “Dreams do come true! The pictures included a shot of Navya in a black suit, as well as images of the campus and her new friends. She also posted a story showing her celebrating with a cake, thanking her teacher Prasad for his guidance during her CAT/IAT exam preparation.
Despite coming from a family deeply rooted in Bollywood, Navya has taken a different path in entrepreneurship and social work. In 2021, she launched Project Naveli, an initiative focused on tackling gender inequality in India. She also hosts a podcast titled “What The Hell Navya” which discusses topics related to feminism and women’s roles in society, often featuring her mother Shweta Bachchan and grandmother Jaya Bachchan.
The BPGP at IIM Ahmedabad is aimed at professionals and entrepreneurs who want to continue their careers while pursuing higher education. The program is hybrid, combining online classes with a few on-campus sessions. Candidates for this program need a bachelor’s degree, at least three years of work experience, and a valid score from CAT, GMAT, GRE, or the IIMA Admission Test (IAT). Personal interviews with the shortlisted candidates are used for the final selection process. The program costs Rs 20 lakh, excluding travel and accommodation for on-campus modules, according to reports.

Social media has been abuzz ever since Navya Naveli Nanda shared the news. While some congratulated her for carving her own path despite her family being a massive part of the entertainment industry, others asked several questions regarding her admission. Have a look:
Isn’t CAT supposed to happen after after 2 months?
Good for her but is this some quota? pic.twitter.com/eIpmLHDNdQ— purpleready (@epicnephrin_e) September 1, 2024

While most celebrity kids opt for foreign education, it is truly inspiring to see Navya Nanda, Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter, choose IIM Ahmedabad, India’s top business school.

To those wondering, this is not the flagship 2-year PGP course at IIM A. This program is for working professionals and entrepreneurs and doesn’t need 99.9 or something percentile. But again, anything at IIM A is good and kudos to Navya for choosing this path and not acting. pic.twitter.com/RWgWOzvP6L

People are questioning how Big B’s grand daughter got into IIM A but people didn’t raise a question when Big B’s son Abhishek Bachchan cleared UPSC and became ACP in Dhoom.
Hypocrisy? pic.twitter.com/PWw6rsHgpT

I had to Google what BPGP program is in IIM A and seems like it’s just an online program which doesn’t require you to even crack CAT ?
