It was the wee hours of the morning on Friday that a security guard around Chandivali Studio contacted the police control room urging them to aid a 32-year-old woman who was beaten and asked for help. TOI reports that the Saki Naka police team arrived at the location in 10 minutes to assist the injured woman who was found losing a lot of blood in a parked tempo.

After she was rushed to the hospital, doctors at the Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar confirmed sexual assault. The police revealed that the woman underwent multiple surgeries; however, she succumbed due to severe injuries. HT reports that on the basis of the medical examination reports, cops revealed that the woman was a victim of brutal rape where the rapist allegedly inserted an iron road in her private parts.
Heinous!
Shameful!
Heart Wrenching!
We demand strong action against all culprits, immediate arrest. Though Hon Courts pronounce punishments, such culprits should be hanged till deaths.
CM must meet Hon CJ of Mumbai HC & request fast track court for trial of this #Nirbhaya case. pic.twitter.com/s0GYDsi6rC— Devendra Fadnavis (@Dev_Fadnavis) September 11, 2021
The police held a 45-year-old man in the Saki Naka rape and murder case, the brutality of which is being compared to Delhi’s Nirbhaya rape case in 2012. “The accused has been booked under the IPC sections for murder, rape, unnatural offence and sexual harassment,” said the cops.
They revealed that the victim allegedly used to reside on the roadside and work doing odd jobs. The accused is reportedly a driver who has been booked under Sections 307, 376, 323 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Yet another woman dies after being tortured and raped… And these crimes become only more atrocious, barbaric and heinous. Today I’m not even angry, just numb. What’s the solution? Should we make peace with the fact that till there are humans, there will be inhumanity? #mumbairape

Rapists are the cause of rape. What a woman wears, says, drinks or does is not a factor. The common factor in all cases of rape is the presence of a rapist.

I think our country needs to re- consider some amendments/acts wrt right to life & dignity etc.
Because Right to life should be given to Human Beings only, not to those demons/vultures who are roaming openly in the form of human beings.#sakinaka #Nirbhaya

I can't feel safe unless I am trapped in the 4 walls of my room.
It's heart-wrenching and what hurts, even more, is that no matter how much I feel sad and hurt, I will never be able to do something about it. Nirbhaya was supposed to be the last but no. #MumbaiKiNirbhaya— Sakshi Singh (@sakshi46singh) September 11, 2021
Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray declared that the case will be tried in a fast-track court. “I have asked [the] police to expedite the investigation. The case will be tried in a fast-track court and we will ensure the strictest punishment is given to the perpetrator.”
We hope that justice is served at the earliest and that there comes a day when there is an end to the steadily rising crimes against women in the country.
