In Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district, citizens made their elected representative aware of their ground reality in a unique way. It all started when MLA Kamal Malik faced opposition from the villagers of his constituency when he visited the area in view of the upcoming UP assembly elections. They alleged that ever since his election, he had never paid a visit to the village in the last 4 years.
As per a report in Aaj Tak, people made the MLA walk on a water-logged stretch of the road for not taking cognizance of the infrastructure all this while. Check it out:
Infuriated over flooded street with filthy water, in #Hapur, local residents of Dholpur under Gadmukteswar area forced the local BJP MLA to walk in the same. The MLA had visited the village as part of his ' पद यात्रा' ahead of assembly election.#UttarPradesh pic.twitter.com/NdSX5VA17n

The people have a right to drag their elected representatives through the muck of accountability, whoever he/she may be.
The day all of us actually do it will be Independence Day. https://t.co/NqYPDSLgdg
