Life in the public eye isn’t easy, and content creator Kusha Kapila recently shared a glimpse of this harsh reality. In a conversation on the Moment of Silence podcast, Kusha revealed that she and her ex-husband Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia were compelled to announce their divorce earlier than planned.
Why? Because a media outlet got hold of the news and gave them a two-day deadline to either confirm or deny it.

“We had to give that news out because a news publication gave us a deadline that ‘We are giving you two days to either confirm it or deny it, and on the third day, we are going to carry the story’. So it was important for the news to come out from us,” she said.
She explained that the outlet had received intel from someone who spotted them at court.
“I hate to have a nuanced look at it, but they were doing their job. They got an intel from somebody who saw us at the court. The idea was to constantly protect the two people involved in the whole thing,” she added.
Kusha and Zorawar announced their separation in June 2023 through a statement on social media.

This incident brings forth the relentless pressure celebrities face to share their personal lives, even when they aren’t ready. For the media, the chase for an exclusive often comes first, leaving public figures no choice but to control the narrative before someone else does. While some might call it the price of fame, it’s also a reminder of the emotional toll it takes. Personal milestones like separations, pregnancies, or even illnesses are often turned into breaking news without considering the human side of the story.
At the end of the day, celebrities are people too. Behind the glamour and spotlight are individuals who deserve privacy—just like the rest of us.
