Ever since the matter of WhatsApp privacy was raised online, people started looking for alternatives for social media applications like Facebook. In sync with the motto ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Vocal For Local’, several Indians suggested we shift from WhatsApp to desi app, Telegram.

Now, desi Twitter is suggesting everyone migrate to another indie application, Koo, a homegrown app inspired by Twitter. People started discussing the possibilities of switching to Koo after Union Minister Piyush Goyal took to Twitter and shared the link to his profile on Koo.

According to News18, the app created by a Bengaluru-based start-up won the ‘MyGov Aatmanirbhar App Challenge’ in August 2020.
What do you think? Can the atmanirbhar app become India’s alternative to Twitter?
