For the past year, Karan Johar’s transformation has been the talk of the town. The filmmaker, known for his bold fashion choices and larger-than-life personality, surprised everyone with his visibly leaner avatar. On April 17, Karan Johar finally spilled the tea on his weight loss journey during an Instagram Live session.

“It started with me discovering that I needed to correct my blood levels,” he shared, quoted Hindustan Times.

Karan Johar revealed that the turning point came when he realised he needed to improve his blood reports. That’s when he decided to commit to a healthier lifestyle. The filmmaker admitted that he’s been following a strict regime that includes eating just one meal a day, staying physically active, and prioritising his mental well-being.

Now if you’re wondering, what’s this ‘One Meal A Day’ (OMAD) diet? It’s exactly what it sounds like. OMAD is a type of intermittent fasting where a person consumes all their daily calories in just one meal and fasts for the rest of the day.

Apart from following OMAD, Karan Johar shared that he’s been regularly playing paddleball and swimming to maintain his new weight. He emphasized that his transformation is the result of hard work, discipline, and a lifestyle overhaul, not shortcuts or drugs.

Despite his consistent claims of doing it the healthy way, rumours that he used Ozempic kept popping up online. For those unaware, Ozempic is a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes, but it’s gained popularity recently for its side effect – rapid weight loss. It works by suppressing appetite, which is why many celebrities have allegedly been using it off-label to lose weight quickly.

However, Karan made it very clear that he has not taken Ozempic. Reacting to a tweet about the rumours, he cheekily posted on his Instagram story, “Being healthy and eating well and reinventing the wheel of your own nutrition! Aur Ozempic ko mile credit!

“I want to tell you I am in the pink of health. I’ve never felt happier, lighter on my feet. I’ve lost my weight the right way. I ideally wake up with a spring in my step and feel ready to work with new zest and zeal. It’s about being healthy, eating well, exercising, and just doing your best to look good,” he said, quoted Mid-Day.

KJo’s journey is a reminder that with the right mindset, it’s never too late to turn things around.
