Game of Thrones Season 7 has begun and in just two episodes, the magnum opus has had the internet over flowing with various theories. While there are many which we rubbish off, there’s one theory that has caught our attention and how.
According to an article published in Unilad, one of the fan theories predict that Jon Snow will be responsible for Daenerys Targaryen’s death. Yup, you heard that right! How so? Let us backtrack a bit and explain.
The second episode saw Daenerys asking Tyrion Lannister to summon Jon Snow. In her words, she demanded him to come and bend the knee. Here’s where the problem begins, if you remember clearly, the letter Jon received from Tyrion had no mention about bending the knee.
The letter reads,
“Daenerys Stormborn, first of her name, invites you to Dragonstone, [illegible], Dorne and the Reach, the Ironborn Fleet, [illegible but probably about Dothraki and Unsullied] and three Dragons. The Seven Kingdoms [illegible but something about Cersei]. Join us and together we can end her tyranny. [Illegible but something about bastards], for all dwarves are bastards in their father’s eyes.”
See, no mention about the bending of the knee!
Jon and Ser Davos have left for Dragonstone to convince Daenerys to join them in their fight against the white walkers. Not only that, Jon also wants tonnes of Dragonglass which the Khaleesi is sitting on! Khaleesi is under the impression that Jon has come to pledge his loyalty and alliance to her.
Will they argue? Since the letter was rather misleading!
In the past episodes, we have seen Jon always standing up for what is right and for the greater good. Chances are that Jon might bend his knee and serve his allegiance to the Mother of Dragons. The twist is, whoever Jon has allied with, has died.
When Jon had joined the Night’s Watch, Lord Commander Jeor Mormont chose him as his squire. Jon pledged his loyalty and Lord Commander was killed in a mutiny at Craster’s Keep. Then came, the chief of wildings, Mance Rayder and Stannis Baratheon.
And we all know how that ended!
So, basically, whoever Jon sides with ends up dead. And if we were to go by this theory, Dany, you’re up next!
P.S- Let’s not forget the R + L = J theory too. If something were to happen to Dany, then Jon would replace her. Because he is a Targaryen too!
