Cracking JEE is every engineering aspirant’s dream, but scoring a perfect 300/300? That’s rare. Om Prakash Behera from Odisha did just that in the JEE Main 2025 January session, securing a 100 percentile NTA score. His journey is not just about hard work – it’s about discipline, smart preparation, and an unusual decision: he doesn’t use a phone at all, reported DNA.
In today’s world, where students rely on their phones for study material, doubt-clearing sessions, and even relaxation, Om Prakash chose to eliminate all distractions. He believes this decision helped him stay completely focused.

“Instead of overthinking a bad result, I focus on my weaknesses and improve,” News 24 quoted him saying.
Om Prakash studied in Kota for three years, dedicating 8-9 hours daily to self-study along with coaching classes. His preparation was simple yet effective – he focused on NCERT textbooks and consistently analyzed his mistakes in weekly tests. His focus was not on being perfect but on learning from his mistakes and working on his weaknesses.

But behind his success is his mother’s unwavering support. Smita Rani Behera, a college lecturer in Odisha, paused her career for three years to stay with him in Kota. His father, Kamalkant Behera, an Odisha Administrative Services officer, also stood by him throughout.
Now, with JEE Advanced on the horizon, he dreams of studying Computer Science at IIT Bombay. We’re sure that he’ll be able to ace his dream!
