Have you guys heard of Simon Porte Jacquemus? He is a French fashion designer behind the fashion label Jacquemus. Touted as the next Karl Lagerfeld by some, he has taken the Paris Fashion Week by storm with his itsy-bitsy, minuscule handbags. They are part of his Fall 2019 collection.
Named “Mini Le Chiquito”, they’re so tiny that you probably have to zoom in on the model’s hand to see that she’s carrying one of them!

The designer also sent out his show’s invites in these micro bags. Here is a picture that puts their actual size in perspective.
Fashion enthusiasts have been discussing what could possibly fit in these and they’re not even sure if they can accommodate a pair of airpods. The bags are not available for sale yet but reports suggest that a single piece could cost $800 (~ Rs. 57,000).
The designer’s earlier collection also featured a range of small bags. Those were slightly bigger at 12cm x 6cm. One of the variants is listed on his website for $486 i.e. approximately Rs. 35,000.
Obviously, the Twitterati had a field day with these cute albeit useless things. Take a look at some of the best reactions.

Last year, luxury fashion house Yves Saint Laurent came up with penis-shaped earrings and necklaces. Now, these nanoscopic handbags have been unveiled. I wonder what other ridiculously expensive accessories the coming months have in store for us.
