Husband Cheats On Wife, Her Mother Dies While They Fight, He Sues Her & Gets Half The Property

In China, a truly shocking story has left many shaking their heads. It is unfair and appalling to see someone guilty of being dishonest and then leaving after having ‘won’. Here’s what happened.

There was a couple who had been married for two decades and were going through a rough patch in their marriage. Earlier this year, things took a tragic turn when the wife decided to take her ailing mother out for a stroll to help lift her spirits. Her father had passed away a few years ago, and her mother had been struggling with her health ever since. It seemed like a simple walk to lighten her mood, but what happened next would change everything.

While they were out, they ran into the husband hand in hand with another woman! Shocked and furious, the wife confronted him right there in the street, and a heated argument quickly followed. The mother-in-law, trying to stop the fight, suddenly collapsed. She suffered a heart attack and died right on the spot, reported Hindustan Times.

After the devastating incident and the funeral, the grieving wife decided to file for divorce. But just when she thought things couldn’t get worse, her husband dropped another bombshell – he demanded half of the property she inherited from her late mother. The two houses had been in the family for years, and she was determined to keep them, but he wouldn’t back down.

When the dispute went to court, the wife believed she had a solid case. After all, how could a man who played a part in her mother’s tragic death have any right to her inheritance? Unfortunately, the Chinese Civil Code had a different answer. According to the law, any assets inherited during the marriage are considered joint property unless clearly stated otherwise.

Because the mother-in-law hadn’t specified that the properties should go solely to her daughter, the court ruled in the husband’s favour. He was now legally entitled to half of the inherited estate.

How unfair life is, isn’t it?
