The Splendour Plus, aka the dharti ka sabse reliable bike, now costs Rs 95,000! Yes, you read that right. Ninety. Five. Thousand. The same bike that was the middle-class family’s dream ride back in the early 2000s, priced at a humble Rs 40,000-50,000, is now just shy of a lakh.
For those of us who grew up watching our dads proudly park their Splendour outside the house, this price hike feels personal. This bike wasn’t just a two-wheeler – it was an emotion. From carrying an entire family (logistics samajh lo, adjust karlo) to its legendary mileage, the Splendour was the OG middle-class superstar.
A post on X highlighted this shocking development, and desi netizens couldn’t keep calm.

Middle-class India just wants to know one thing – pichle 20 saal mein humne kya galat kiya tha?
About 6 to 8 years ago, the price of a Royal Enfield motorcycle was ₹1.30 lakh, but now it has increased to ₹2.30 lakh.

Wow! Almost 3X in 25 years. With almost the same design and perhaps the engine.
