‘The Great Khali’ Has Been Hospitalized After He Suffered A Near Fatal Head Injury

If you think of the Great Khali, the one word that instantly comes to your mind is ‘invincible’. But his unassailable spirit met a tragic fate on Wednesday.

The 44-year-old Khali suffered a severe head injury during a fight with the Canadian wrestler Brody Steel that took place in the promotional event at Haldwani, Uttarakhand.

On Wednesday night, on the first day of the show, he was hit by Mike Knox and Brody Steel. They clobbered him with a steel chair and he started to bleed.

To promote his wrestling competition Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE), Khali had taken part in this fighting Championship where he fought with two wrestlers at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Gaula Par.

 

He got 7 stitches on his head and had back and chest pains. He was rushed to the hospital immediately and was admitted to the ICU.

However, the hospital didn’t have adequate facilities and he was airlifted to Max Hospital in Dehradun. He underwent several CT scans and various tests were conducted on him to ensure that he had no lethal chest injuries.

A source claimed, “He was hit by Mike Knox and Brody Steel in the head and the chest which led to him getting injured. The medical care in Haldwani wasn’t adequate so he was airlifted to Dehradun where he underwent further tests.”

 

Luckily, his medical condition is better and he is recovering now.

His brother, Surender Rana confirmed that he is recovering and the situation is not that worse.

The event marked the presence of eminent personalities like Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat; Finance Minister, Indira Hridayesh and Sports Minister, Yashpal Arya.
