FIITJEE, one of India’s leading coaching institutes, has been facing heat after reports surfaced that the company hasn’t paid its teachers since February 2023. Teachers were reportedly told that their salaries would be delayed until the company regained financial stability. However, months later, employees were allegedly blamed for the institute’s financial struggles and are receiving threats of repercussions if they choose to leave, reported Mint.
Adding fuel to the fire, a video of FIITJEE’s chairman, DK Goel, has gone viral, sparking widespread outrage. The clip shows Goel in an online meeting with centre heads when a staff member from the Thane branch asked about FIITJEE’s recent investment in the EdTech industry amid “financial struggles”. Instead of addressing the question, Goel erupted in shocking verbal abuse.
In the video, he can be heard making demeaning remarks, including, “Useless people… what kind of sh*t people are these? You know the name of your father, the person who has written this? Nonsense. Go ask your mother who your father is.”
The outburst didn’t stop there. Goel demanded to know the person’s identity, adding, “Throw him out of Mumbai.”
When another attendee tried to intervene, asking him to stay calm, Goel lashed out at them too, calling them “b*stards” and saying, “Indecency ki hadd hai. Whoever this person is, I don’t want to see him in FIITJEE.”
