Most of us have come across toddlers who are picky eaters. With them, every bite becomes a bargain. It reminds me of my little cousin who turns up his nose at mealtime every day, and cannot eat any healthy food without a generous serving of ketchup and cheese all over it.
A desi Twitter user shared this parental struggle with a simple picture of the fussy little eater standing on the sofa while his mother stands and waits for him to take a bite. And the mealtime power struggle was evident.

1. Many found it to be a relatable scene happening at their homes as well:
I swear…..this is my son’s milk hour, which basically starts at 5:30 and ends around 8pm…he is 3. I hv never struggled with anything like this before… also because I have a 2 month old in my lap

I prefer to wash the vessels than feeding him. Real struggle

2. But other parents shared how they cracked the code with their kids:
We never had to struggle, we had simple rules since they were hardly 2 years, sit on the table and feed yourself no pampering. pic.twitter.com/TKkZArb1WQ

3. Here’s the advice some of them had to deal with fussy eaters:
No point in chasing kids with food. They will eat when hungry. This is just unnecessary pampering. The child looks at least 4, needs to eat on his own now.

Ditto. My son’s paediatrician said hunger is our instinct – don’t force/cajole the child, when he’s hungry, he will eat. It may not follow your schedule but he’ll eat and just be patient coz eventually he’ll develop a routine.

Parents who pamper, else in our childhood one stare from my mother and I used to sit calmly at the plate.

I always see parents running behind a kid in the mall. Parents never realise that the moment you stop running behind him he will return to them. Few small steps in bringing up kids these days.. make them ready for all conditions. Don’t over do pampering even if it’s one kid.
