Desis Flood BCCI With Applications As They Post Google Form To Find New Head Coach For India

BCCI is looking for a new head coach for the Indian men’s cricket team. Rahul Dravid, who has till now been coaching the team is expected to step down from his position because he wants to spend time with his family, reported Mint. However, he has the option to reapply. Under Rahul Dravid, team India performed magnificently in the ODI World Cup 2023, winning 10 consecutive matches and reaching the finals before losing to Australia.

BCCI is currently taking applications for the post of head coach for Team India. The tenure of the next head coach will start from July 1, 2024 and will run till December 31, 2027. This means that he will be responsible for the next ODI World Cup in 2027. According to NDTV, here is the criteria for the position:

“Should have played minimum of 30 Test Matches or 50 ODI’s; or Head Coach of a full member Test Playing Nation, for a minimum period of 2 years; or Head Coach of an Associate member /IPL Team or Equivalent International League/First Class Teams/ National A teams, for a minimum period of 3 years; or Should have BCCI Level 3 Certification or equivalent; and Should be below 60 years of age.”

BCCI has also posted a link to a Google Form where candidates can apply. However, cricket fans have taken this opportunity to apply as well because, anybody could apply via the Google Form!

Seems like BCCI is going to get flooded with thousands of such applications! 😛
