“Dancing Uncle…. Video toh dekha hoga?”
I can totally imagine Sanjeev Shrivastava, Dancing Uncle to us all, spreading his arms à la SRK, and then suddenly breaking into a Govinda-style song and dance! And who knows, maybe this imaginary scene might soon become a reality and come to screens near you!
After just one video, Dancing Uncle’s fame is totally skyrocketed beyond anyone’s wildest imagination! He’s already created official accounts on social media channels, uploaded a couple more videos, and even made appearances on news channels!
In an interview with Asian Age, Shrivastava, who is now calling himself ‘Dabbu the Dancer”, talks about all the praise and honour he has been receiving because of his video.
“It was just bewildering. The chief minister (Shivraj Singh Chouhan) took note of my success.”

“I was made the brand ambassador of Swachh mission by Vidisha Municipal Corporation and also flooded with appreciations from Bollywood stars.”
Thanx for this Love, Support & Honour given by VIDISHA. It's a great privilege for me and my family. #DancingUncle #Dancing pic.twitter.com/enzrOSgWnb

Even his idol, Govinda, was all praise for his dancing skills!
And now, not surprisingly enough, Dancing Uncle is fielding calls for appearances on reality shows, and even movie offers! Shrivastava even flew to Mumbai to discuss these offers, and met with none other than Suniel Shetty!
Dabbu met Anna at the latter’s home and even shared pictures of them both on Twitter and it got us all excited!
Met @SunielVShetty Urf Mr Anna. was an amazing experience.

See, that’s why I LOVE social media! If you’ve got talent, a decent camera phone and internet, it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from. Your talent and skill gives you an equal chance to be a celebrity in your own right! I mean, look at this professor of a college in Bhopal, who’s now such a sensation!
Chalo Uncle, many congrats to you and yours! Here’s hoping the sky isn’t the limit for you! Keep dancing!
