We live in a world that is constantly changing. Within a matter of 2 decades, we went from using heavy mobile phones with antennas to smartphones that can do way more than just calls and messages. So one can imagine how tough it must be for the older generation to constantly adapt to this change and learn new things.
However, a guy named Rahul Gupta shared how his dad takes down notes to use online applications. He posted a picture of his father’s diary in which he has written the steps on how to use the Uber app.
Have a look:

People online responded to the tweet by sharing similar experiences of their parents learning new-age technology. Turns out, many of them take down notes for apps like Skype, Google Meet, YouTube, etc.
My mum has similar notes for basically every app she uses – WhatsApp, Youtube etc.

Once upon a time my in-laws had similar document to switch on laptop, login to Skype and call us. Now they are very tech savvy. Always in awe of the generation that has seen it all – trunk calls to instant video calls on smartphone.?

My gram learnt how to make WhatsApp Audio messages and calls the same way!
Lesson that I learnt is that If UI of a product change, we can figure out easily how to get the job done but all parents, elderly using it might face issues. So much thought goes into Application Dev!!

My father writes everything in his diary, he spends at least 20 mins daily to write down the things happened that day. I many times tried to maintain diary writing, but failed. Our fathers are just superb.

That’s amazing.
One of my relatives had a memo of using skype when their son went to USA.
It was an achievement for them to be able to do it on their own.
Tech can make you relevant/irrelevant if you don’t change.

That’s really good. My dad still denies to use these apps. He just gives up everytime we try to make them learn. He doesn’t even use internet banking ?

Isn’t it heartwarming to see the older generation going the extra mile to keep up with the times? 🙂
