In today’s world, where dining out is often seen as a luxury or a special treat by a large number of people, there are some individuals who seek to exploit the system for their own amusement. These cheapskates are driven by a desire to get something for nothing. They go to great lengths to avoid paying for meals, even in high-end restaurants. For them, it’s not just about saving money but also about the thrill of cheating the restaurant.
An X user, Udit Bhandari, recounted a shocking experience from a house party in Gurgaon. At the party, he met a middle-aged couple who admitted to pulling off a deceitful practice frequently. They are not financially strapped, mind you.
According to Bhandari, the couple revealed that they often visit five-star restaurants in Delhi and Gurgaon carrying a dead fly. Halfway through their meal, they secretly place the fly in their food and then cause a scene. In an effort to appease them, the restaurant management typically either waives the cost of the affected dish or the entire meal.
“Met a middle-aged couple at a party who revealed something quite disgusting. Apparently it’s something they do for fun as they didn’t seem tight on money. They have on several occasions went out to dine at 5* restaurants in Delhi/Gurgaon and carried with them a dead fly! Yes, a dead fly!” he wrote.
The couple shared this tactic with pride and boasted about how they have exploited numerous places in a similar fashion.
“Halfway into their meal they would quietly slip this into their food & then create a huge fuss over it. The management in a bid to placate them would either not charge for that dish or in most cases make their entire meal free. They were proud to share his ‘hack’ for getting free meals and said have done this many many times!”

My brother used to work in McD part-time long back. He said that many privileged folks come to McD, eat halfway and complain about bread, veggies or ordered something else. They will settle it by replacing another order or providing extra meals as a policy.

I am glad that I haven’t met anyone like them.
I thought these types of people existed only in reel life not real.
You should start filtering your circle and the people you meet.

This kind of behavior is both unethical and dishonest, undermining the hard work and integrity of restaurant staff!
