Remember how back when we were in school, the teacher used to make us stand outside the class as punishment for arriving late? You thought you had left those days behind, but surprise! Not quite. Turns out, one Indian CEO is taking workplace discipline a little too seriously, bringing back those school punishments in the corporate world.
In a Reddit post on r/IndianWorkplace, user ‘shutterspice’ revealed how the CEO of their company decided to lock out employees who arrived late and give them a public lecture on productivity.

“In what seemed to be a time travel moment, our CEO teleported us back to school days today! He shut off all entry to the office at around 12 pm and made all the latecomers stand outside the office doors. After some time, he lectured all these guys about being productive and punctual and how ‘I was here till 10 pm last night’ is not a valid reason to show up late,” the user wrote.
The user further expressed how the experience reminded the employees of their school days when prefects used to make them stand under the sun for arriving after 8 AM.

As expected, the internet had thoughts. Redditors were quick to slam the CEO’s behaviour, calling it humiliating, childish and unnecessary. Some even gave solutions on how to tackle such behavior from superiors. Here’s a look:

Nobody wants to feel like they are back in school, especially when they are at work!
