Optical illusions are nothing short of magic. They trick our eyes, confuse our brains and leave us perplexed. A while back, netizens were boggled by a Twitter thread with 17 of the best ones.
Now, Twitter user and cognitive scientist, Chaz Firestone, has shared another colour illusion and it has already garnered 82, 000 retweets! The reason? All the spheres in this image are actually brown in colour!
All the balls are the same color — and that color is *brown*! pic.twitter.com/JriPXHnNYR

This 3D illusion was created by David Novick, Professor of Engineering Education and Leadership at the University of Texas. He says it is,
“A three-colour confetti illusion with spheres, which appear to be yellowish, reddish, and purpleish but in fact have exactly the same light-brown base colour (RGB 255,188,144). Shrinking the image increases the effect.”
The key is to zoom in on the image and look at one sphere at a time. One netizen also shared an edited image in which the bars were changed to grey. Take a look.

That's amazing. Here is the picture with the color bars made gray where they cross "on top of" the balls, just to show the underlying ball color. pic.twitter.com/clxEDBHMGs

People couldn’t believe what they were seeing and expressed their surprise. Here are their awestruck reactions.
We have no idea what the world really looks like. Our brains, man.
