In a world where everything is available at our fingertips, whether it’s groceries, juices, or even dosa batter, local vendors and small businesses are quietly struggling to stay afloat. With the rise of quick delivery services and app-based convenience, many of these hardworking individuals are being pushed into the shadows. And if we want to keep the heart of our cities beating, be it our local tea stalls or bakeries, we need to think of creative ways to support them.
And that’s exactly what one woman from Bengaluru did when she came across a sugarcane juice seller who deserved way more attention than she was getting. The woman in question is Poornima Prabhu who recently took to X to post about a sugarcane juice shop that was run by a woman named Latha.
Poornima was quick to point out how the stall was sparkling clean, not a single fly in sight, and Latha’s warm and friendly nature made the whole experience feel like a five-star service.
Instead of just saying thank you and walking away, Poornima did something beautiful – she added Latha’s stall to Google Maps so more people could find her and enjoy the same experience.
“Please visit this sugarcane shop anytime you are in the area. Run by the sweetest, most hospitable lady – Latha. Keeps the premises super clean, no flies covering the machine or glasses. My way of thanking her…also added her business to Google maps,” she wrote on X.
Have a look:
In a follow-up post, Poornima also shared helpful details for anyone wanting to visit – the juice stall is open daily from 11 AM to 9 PM and after 4 PM, Latha also brings ground idli-dosa batter for eateries and households.
People couldn’t stop cheering her on, with comments pouring in appreciating both Latha’s efforts and Poornima’s thoughtful gesture. Here’s what they had to say:
Thanks for promoting genuine ones…much appreciated

Cut sugarcane pieces in the fridge, wow that’s impressive!
Wish I could visit them.
My best wishes and also worried that babus and politicos do not demand money bribes from them!— Slick (@NeilMcCauley27) April 18, 2025
Some joy in seeing the 560050 pincode 😀

Let’s do our bit. Next time you’re moved by a local vendor’s service, consider doing what Poornima did. A small step for you could mean the world to them.
