“Honesty is the best policy.”
We have been taught this proverb, but sadly, we don’t implement it into our lives. In the world where sad news dominates the newspapers’ headlines, this act of honesty is like a whiff of fresh air.
Meet Prabhakar More, an auto driver in Mumbai. He may lead a very simple life, but he introduced us to an exemplary act of honesty – he returned Rs 1.5 lakh to a passenger from Dombivali, Mumbai.

By doing this, he has earned every ounce of respect from us.
Krishna Gosavi, the passenger who took Prabhakar’s auto left his bag containing Rs 1.5 lakh after he got down.

He forgot to take his bag which was kept on the seat. Krishna was carrying this money for his new flat.
The auto driver went home and upon cleaning his auto, he found a bag inside. Intrigued, he opened the bag and found a huge sum of money with some important documents.
He immediately called local BJP corporator Mahesh Patil and told him that he wanted to return the bag to its owner.

Patil summoned Prabhakar to his office and they alerted the police station too. The owner was contacted and returned the amount in the presence of a police officer.
Patil said:
A great deed! Way to go, Prabhakar More. 🙂
More often than not, we don’t trust the auto drivers because we assume they’re not honest. But, acts like these compel us to think otherwise!
