A feud between a Gramin Seva driver and Delhi police personnel in broad daylight on June 16 in Mukherjee Nagar stirred protest across Delhi demanding an immediate suspension of the culprits.
Multiple videos went viral on social media which did not clear the air as to who was at fault for stirring the argument. After which DCP (North West), Vijayanta Arya said to The Hindu that on June 16 evening, the driver, Sarabjeet Singh, brushed past an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) of the police. Soon an argument broke out between an ASI and the driver. The ASI called for backup from the Mukherjee Nagar police station and when the policemen tried to detain the driver, he attacked the policemen with a sword and injured an ASI on his head.
Alleged incident followed an accident caused by a Gramin Sewa tempo to a police vehicle. Thereafter, a police officer was also assaulted on head by the tempo driver with a sword. Further the tempo was driven dangerously and caused injuries to a policeman in the leg.@mssirsa
