Parts of Australia and New Zealand were spectacularly lit up by the Aurora Australis which took place on April 20, reports USA Today. People living in Tasmania, Australia, and Queenstown, New Zealand, were in for a visual treat as a green glow covered the evening sky.
The Aurora Australis or the Southern Lights takes place when solar particles collide with atmospheric gases thereby emitting blue, purple, red, and green lights.
People living in Tasmania and Queenstown who witnessed the Aurora Australis took to social media to post pictures and videos of the gorgeous natural light show and they are indeed a treat for the eyes. Have a look:
