With great box office success, Sandeep Reddy Vanga also had to face great criticism from certain film critics and a section of the audience after his latest release ‘Animal’ starring Ranbir Kapoor. A lot of people have called him out for the violence, misogyny, and woman-hating tendencies shown in the film and every time someone criticises the film, Vanga has a meltdown. Sorry, I just had to say it.
However, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently posted pictures with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and called him the “most misunderstood” filmmaker at the moment. He met him to ask the many questions he had after watching ‘Animal’ twice and said that one can actually “confront” Vanga and talk to him.
“The most misunderstood, judged and reviled filmmaker at the moment. To me, he is the most honest, vulnerable and lovely person. I wanted to meet the man and I had questions and he answered everything I asked of him about his film that I actually saw twice. Thank you for being patient and being yourself. This is a person you can actually confront and talk to. The biggest game changer of Hindi cinema in the longest time and a film whose impact (good or bad) which can’t be denied. And the filmmaker who takes it all on his chin,” he wrote.

Several people online called Anurag Kashyap out for endorsing the wrong kind of filmmaker and were terribly disappointed by him. Here’s what some of them had to say:
Even film writer and comedian Varun Grover and director Neeraj Ghaywan called Kashyap out.
Do you think Anurag Kashyap is setting the wrong example?
