In today’s fast-paced world, many of us often put our work above everything else. Meeting deadlines, juggling multiple responsibilities, and working through weekends have become the norm. But amidst all this hustle, we tend to forget the one thing that truly matters – our health. Unfortunately, it’s only when a health scare strikes that we realize the importance of taking care of ourselves.
One such reminder came recently from Amit Misra, the CEO of Dazeinfo, who shared his shocking experience on social media. In a candid post, Misra recounted how a seemingly lazy Saturday turned into a nightmare when he suddenly started bleeding from his nose.

“Lazy Saturday, working relaxed on Laptop, sudden start of nose bleed, becomes unstoppable, white washbasin turned red, thick cotton cloth soaked in blood, fearing of syncing in coma, lands in ICU. My horrific weekend!! By the time I rushed to Apollo Hospital, I had lost a significant amount of blood. The emergency team struggled for 20 minutes before temporarily stopping the bleeding,” he wrote.
However, the real shock came when the doctors checked his blood pressure. It was 230 – an alarmingly high reading.
“No headaches, no dizziness, no warnings, no history of BP, just an unexpected crisis. I was immediately shifted to the ICU, where doctors worked to bring my BP down.”
Just when things seemed to be settling down, another crisis struck. The next morning, as he tried to walk inside the ICU, he fainted. This time, his blood pressure had dropped drastically, leaving doctors puzzled.
“What followed were four days of all kinds of tests – ECG, LFT, ECHO, cholesterol, and even a painful angiography – but surprisingly, everything came out fine.”

Reflecting on the incident, Misra shared some crucial lessons. He emphasized that our bodies don’t always give clear warnings and that health risks can silently build up. He urged people not to ignore small signs and to prioritize health over work. Misra’s ordeal is a wake-up call for all of us who often take our well-being for granted.
“Your body doesn’t always give clear warnings. High BP, stress, and health risks can be silent killers. Regular checkups are a must. Work is important, but health is non-negotiable. We often ignore small signs, thinking we’re fine until we’re not,” he advised.
