At Islamabad International Airport, Sajid welcomed her with flowers. Mindy, who has since converted to Islam and adopted the name Zulekha, was then taken to Sajid’s remote village of Usherai Dara in Upper Dir, where locals greeted her with warmth, gifts, and traditional celebrations.

The two tied the knot in a traditional nikkah ceremony, following local customs and Islamic traditions. The wedding was confirmed by family and local police and became a big event in the area.

The love story gained further attention when Sajid clarified that Zulekha’s decision to convert and marry him was made completely on her own.

“She is a mature woman capable of making her own choices. We are tying the knot of our own free will. There was no pressure from me or my family,” he said.

Calling Sajid “a loving and humble man,” Zulekha credited his sincerity and respect for deepening their bond.

Love really does know no borders!
