In a tragic incident, a 25-year-old Air India pilot, Srishti Tuli, was found dead in her Mumbai flat earlier this week. Srishti reportedly died by suicide, and her boyfriend, Aditya Pandit (27), has been arrested for alleged harassment and abetment. The FIR, based on a complaint by Srishti’s uncle, Vivekkumar Tuli, shares how the woman suffered from humiliation, control, and emotional abuse from her boyfriend.
According to the complaint, Srishti met Aditya two years ago during her pilot training in Delhi, and the two began dating. However, over time, their relationship reportedly took a very toxic turn.
One incident mentioned in the FIR occurred last year when Aditya allegedly insulted Srishti in front of her cousin Rashi during a shopping trip in Delhi. The argument escalated, leading to Aditya ramming a car in anger. Despite the damage, Aditya reportedly remained indifferent, leaving Srishti upset, reported NDTV.
In another incident, in March this year, Aditya publicly humiliated Srishti during a dinner with friends in Gurugram. When Srishti and others suggested ordering non-vegetarian food, Aditya allegedly insulted her, forcing them to leave the restaurant. Moments later, he abandoned her on the road and went home.
The complaint also mentions an argument in which Aditya pressured Srishti to attend a family function despite her having a flight to pilot that day. When she refused, he allegedly blocked her phone number for nearly two weeks, leaving her anxious and distressed. Srishti’s family revealed that she struggled to leave the relationship despite being deeply unhappy because she loved him.
On Monday, Srishti’s body was discovered in her rented flat in Mumbai’s Marol area and a suicide note was found. Aditya has since been arrested under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (abetment of suicide) and is in police custody, reported Hindustan Times.
This is the level of mental trauma emotional abuse causes.
