Urbanisation, development, and the climatic crisis as a result of it has compromised the natural habitation for wild animals. They are being forced to take shelter elsewhere while their homes are being torn down. In the recent past, cases of wild animals entering human settlements in search of food and shelter have been seen. For example, a Kaziranga tiger was forced to take shelter inside a shop during the Assam floods.
Talking about animals entering human settlements, a pride of lions were seen randomly strolling the streets at midnight in Gujarat. There were 7 lions in total and their actions have been caught on camera.

According to reports, the incident took place in Junagadh town which is located close to Girnar Wildlife Sanctuary, which houses over 40 Asiatic lions. The town is situated nearly 100km from the commercial capital of Saurashtra region, Gujarat.

“Lions often come out of the Girnar Wildlife Sanctuary and are found roaming on the roads near Girnar Taleti road as it’s close to the sanctuary in Junagadh. It’s a natural phenomenon here,” said Dr Sunil Kumar Berwal, Deputy Conservator of Forests, Junagadh.
“This is a lions’ corridor and they come out during the night and return back to the wild. The forest department keeps a tab on the lions’ movement and if needed rescue the wild animals and release them back to the wild to avoid human-wildlife conflicts,” he added.

The video has got netizens contemplating hard about whether humans are the ones at fault here.

Best part is, they roam free and the man is behind bars

We have encroached their habitation hence they have to migrate for want of water and food. Forest has to be restored and conserved, other wise our ecosystem will fail

It was never OUR city, it was THEIR home.

Nature reclaiming what rightfully is it's to begin with. Humans are encroachers and must adjust & adapt.

Whatever humans have taken away from nature, one day or the other nature is going to claim it back. This video is proof!
