Indian PUBG Team Wins ₹41.9 Lakhs In Nationals, Headed To Berlin For World Championship!

When most of us were kids, we got an earful from our parents when they caught us playing videogames for too long. I wish I could go back in time and let my parents know that 2 decades later, kids are making big bucks out of playing videogames! We even have teenage YouTubers who can now afford to buy their own house because of their gaming addiction. I think it’s high time parents considered gaming a real career!

While the online videogame PUBG hasn’t really had a very good reputation in our country, with a few places going to the extent of banning the game altogether due to its ill effects, there are PUBG-enthusiasts making great progress in the gaming world.

The PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO) 2019, a videogame tournament, concluded recently and Team SouL bagged the winning trophy. According to sources, it took them six long matches to claim victory! The prize? A whopping cash prize of 60,000 USD (41.9 lakh INR approx)!

But that’s not all. The team is now headed to Berlin to represent India in the PMCO Global Finals. They now have a chance to win an even bigger cash prize – 2.5 million USD (17.48 crore approx)!

The regional finals were held in New Delhi on 14-15 June. While most of the nation was glued to the television watching India v/s Pakistan, gaming-enthusiasts were cheering for their home team. Beating 15 other teams, Team SouL won by 254 points, followed by the runners-up TeamIND who scored 246 points.
