A Brave Man Grabbed The Terrorist’s Gun & Saved A Lot Of People: New Zealand Mosque Shooting Survivor

A terrorist stormed into the Christchurch mosque claiming the life of around 49 people on Friday. Around 20 innocent people were seriously injured and 17 went missing after the ghastly attack. Hours after the brutal massacre, the survivors who witnessed the chaotic bloody scene have come up to share their stories.

“People got feared and there was screaming around and I tried to take cover. By the time I took cover this guy came through the main entrance door and it’s a small mosque – there were about 60 to 70 people there. Just around the entrance door there were elderly people sitting there praying and he just started shooting at them, ” narrates Sayed Mazharuddin, an eye-witness, reports NZ Herald.

He told that the terrorist began shooting everyone right from children to elderly people. A man from inside who takes care of the mosque then tried to tackle the gunman and pounded him. Bravely grabbing him he snatched away his weapon and ran behind him.

“The hero tried to chase and he couldn’t find the trigger in the gun … he ran behind him but there were people waiting for him in the car and he fled,” describes Sayed.

“If that hadn’t happened, many more would have died and I wouldn’t be here now. Hats off to that man; I will definitely try and look him up,” adds Sayed.

The shooter also live-streamed the bloody massacre while shooting down the wounded worshipers as they tried to crawl out of the mosque. This incident is one of the most gruesome public shooting in the history of New Zealand.

Our prayers and condolences are with the country, stay strong New Zealand!
