Kerala Man Has A PhD But Also Rides Auto-Rickshaw As It Makes Him A ‘Better Man’

Kerala’s K. P. Ajith’s only intention behind going to school and studying was to pass his class 10 exams. After that, he wanted to apply for a drivers licence and ride an auto-rickshaw. However, the universe had other plans for him!

According to a report by The New Indian Express, Ajith started riding an auto-rickshaw in his final year of college because it was the easiest way to make an income. He also considers it to be a way of giving back to society.

“I’ve taken many patients and elderly people to hospitals. I’ve learnt many things from conversing with them. It has made me a better person,” he said.

However, Ajith continued his studies and driving an auto-rickshaw. Time flew by and now, Ajith has been awarded a PhD on ‘Popular Culture and Theatre Songs’.

He says that since his childhood dream was to ride an auto-rickshaw, he will continue to do so. But alongside, he will also continue to teach students because he loves imparting knowledge.

He recognises the fact that each student has his/her own unique talent which if guided properly can result in something spectacular. He wishes to be that guiding light for his students, while also riding his rickshaw on the side!
